If you’re new here, I’m guessing you’re a little curious about the person behind this space 😊

My name is Auri, though I also go by Hani, Along, Ari, and Kim (yes, I’ve collected quite a few nicknames over the years!)

I was born on June 23 and raised in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. I’m the eldest of 5 siblings—and the only daughter.

I’m based in Kuala Lumpur, sharing my home with a very handsome American Shorthair cat named Jack 🐈

By profession, I work in finance. I was active in modelling when I was younger, but eventually chose a path that better aligns with my well-being, values, and long-term goals. Alongside my career, I’m currently pursuing higher education—investing in myself so I can grow into the woman I aspire to become.

Solo travel has been a big part of my life since 2016. There’s something deeply empowering about being alone in a foreign country, and it’s a journey I’m still very much in love with.

What is Wanderhoney?

Wanderhoney is my creative outlet, born in 2016 from my love for travel and personal growth. It’s a space where I share travel stories, life reflections, and everything in between—what I see, what I feel, and what I hope to see in the world. 

At its heart, Wanderhoney is a gentle reminder to explore new places, try new things, embrace different cultures, and prioritize self-love. Writing here allows me to slow down and put my thoughts into words… honestly and imperfectly. It’s a reflection of my own path and helps me process my emotions, understand myself better, and connect with others who may be walking a similar one.

As a non-native English speaker, this blog is also part of my growth journey. It helps me become more fluent, confident, and expressive in English and encourages me to keep learning along the way.
